More Halloween Fun!

My Stroller Strength group had a Halloween party last Thursday. There were about 30 moms and who knows how many kids there. Here is Lyla in her costume before we left the house. We asked Lyla several weeks before Halloween what she wanted to be and she said witch 99% of the time. The other 1% she said Pumpkin. I tried to convince her to be Little Red Riding Hood, but she would not hear of it. We found a really cute witch costume and Lyla loved it. She didn't wear the hat a lot because it cut out her vision of everything above her. When you are two years old pretty much everything is above you, so who can blame her.
We tried to get a group picture of all the kids in their costumes. We didn't get everyone in, but here are some of the cuties. Lyla is in the back right of the picture. She stood there nicely but didn't smile for the picture.

Lyla loves her treats. I was so excited when she chose this cupcake that had no icing on it. Icing is such a pain when it gets all over clothes and in her hair. Thank you to whoever brought these to the party. Lyla loved it!!
Lyla loves her friend Ryan. He is about a year older than her and she followed him around for a lot of the party. They got in the bounce house together and she giggled the whole time. Lyla can be a bit of a touch me not around other kids, but I think Ryan could've tackled her and she would've laughed at him. I couldn't get both of their faces in a picture, but that is Ryan in the white shirt.
The lady who hosted the party had a great backyard for kids. She had the bouncy house, this little playhouse and a swing set with a slide. The kids had a blast.

Anna Claire and Lyla played together in the playhouse. Anna Claire was Snow White, her favorite princess! This is still Lyla's "cheese" face when we take a picture. It cracks me up.
The Saturday before Halloween we met Lyla's BFF Anna Claire and her parents at Conner's Amazing Acres. This is a huge farm with so much to do. The girls started in the big pool filled with corn. Such a simple idea, and they loved it!
They had a big playground with a swing set, pedal tractors and piles of sand to play in.
We did the corn maze and the girls did amazing while the grown ups navigated our way out by answering various sports questions. I was not much help with that. They held hands, talked about how stinky it was (but it wasn't) and yelled for Diego.
Next up was the hayride where we fed corn cobs to the cows.
I would not have attempted this, but Lyla saw the train and started yelling to ride on it. It went really fast, so Tommy had to ride with her. They were so dirty when they got off from all the dust.
That day our mailbox was filled with goodies from both sets of Nana's and Papa's. Here is Lyla with all her treats. She has thoroughly enjoyed everything, especially the puzzle, coloring book and colored pencils. I enjoyed the candy corn myself.
Our friends, the Everitts, invited us to go Trick-or-Treating with them on Halloween. Their neighborhood was perfect for Trick-or-Treating. We had discussed trick-or-treating with Lyla, read books and watched cartoons about it. It must've clicked because she knew exactly what to do. She had a blast and celebrated every time she got a treat. Lyla is very interested in names now and wanted to know the names of the people giving her candy. I usually made up a name and then would constantly ask "Where is ___?" She asks us the names of people in restaurants, stores, everywhere. It can be a little awkward.
Here's Lyla at her first house with her friends.
We had a great Halloween weekend. I was exhausted when it was all over.
