14 Months and Other Stuff
Lyla turned 14 months old last week. We took some pictures in our backyard on her 14 month b-day. She really likes to go outside now and explore. We blow bubbles for her and she will chase them and laugh. She's walking everywhere & fast too! When we go out the front door I have to watch her or she'll run towards the road quickly.
I think Lyla's going to be a carpenter, because she is really enjoying hammering on her workbench. She always leans to the side to hammer, too funny!
Yesterday I went to brunch with a few Navy wives and one of them gave me several beautiful hairbows for Lyla. Lyla grabbed them from me when I walked through the door and wanted as many in her hair as possible. We are so excited to have so many colorful bows now.
Lyla's friend James came over one evening last week and played. They get along great and have so much fun together. Tommy and I actually get a nice break when James comes over because they play so well together. Tommy did read them a book and they told him what sound every farm animal makes. James had to wear his backpack most of the night to keep Lyla away from it. I think I know what Lyla wants next...

Abby Cadabby!!
My parents visited us a couple of weekends ago. We all went to the Navy Exchange just to look around and show mom and dad what it was like. As we strolled down the toy aisle, Lyla enjoyed pointing to different toys and smiling. However, when we left the toy aisle she laid her head face down on the cart handle and cried. It was pretty cute, and Papa and Nana couldn't resist her pitiful face. They took her back to the toy aisle and let her pick out a toy. She chose an Abby Cadabby doll (from Sesame Street). She could hardly wait for Papa to get it out of the box once we got home and she played with it the rest of the day. She loves Abby and gives her regular hugs. Thanks for buying Lyla such a great toy! I think Abby will be in the family for a while.
