A Visit from Jeremy and Jesse

Our good friends Jeremy and Jesse visited earlier this month on their way to the cruise ship down south. They gave Lyla her first birthday gift, a cool Elmo cell phone. Lyla loves it and plays with it constantly. Lyla quickly warmed up to Jeremy and Jesse and we had a lot of fun with them. Thanks for visiting!

Some Recent Pictures

A few months ago I put balls in Lyla's pool to use as an indoor toy. She didn't really play in it that much until recently. Now she loves to dive into them and throw the balls out one by one. Lyla is great at throwing things...balls, blocks, food, sippy cups, the list goes on. I guess that's my fault for teaching her to throw.Lyla helping mom water the flowers.Lyla loves to look out of the windows by the front door.
Lyla loves to hide and peek around and see us. Lyla likes to climb under the table and the barstools.

Happy Mother's Day

I had a wonderful first Mother's Day. As I was eating breakfast, Tommy and Lyla came downstairs with my gifts. Lyla was all smiles and such a good baby all day. For mother's day I got a bottle of wine called "Mommy's Time Out," a pink underarmour sun visor, a book with funny mommy stories in it, and a Mommy's Time Out card to use when I need a break. We went to church, and went out to eat lunch. Then we spent a relaxing day inside because it was so hot outside. Here's some pictures of me and Lyla hanging out on mother's day.

Lyla's First Boo Boo

Lyla got her first boo boo at the end of April. Of course Tommy was out of town when it happened. She was playing in her room and fell headfirst onto a decorative bucket that was in her room. Her mouth found a sharp place on the bucket and was cut. With all the tears and drool, it looked like a lot of blood and I was very freaked out. Turns out it wasn't that bad. I tried to get a picture of it, but you can't really see it. I guess this is the beginning of many accidents to come now that Lyla is crawling, pulling up, cruising and climbing. Yes, Lyla can now climb our entire flight of stairs, with us right behind her of course.
